San Francisco Chronicle film critic Mick LaSalle (pictured above) visited Book Passage a few days ago to
speak about his new book, The Beauty of the Real: What Hollywood Can Learn from Contemporary French Actresses ($24.95). It is just out from Stanford University press.
Mick gave a great talk before a crowd of more than 100. It was such a swell event that he wrote about it the next day
on his blog, "Maximum Strength Mick," on SFGate. Be sure and check it out.
And yes, in case you are wondering, we still have a few signed copies of Mick's new book for sale. Click on the above book link to place an order.
Film buffs will be interested to know that The Beauty of the Real will be the subject of an upcoming film series at the Roxie theater in San Francisco and the Rafael in San Rafael.
