Book Passage Mystery Writers Conference 2012 Countdown Begins!

July 19-22
Corte Madera, CA

Keynote Speaker 2012

Don Winslow -
Author of The Kings of Cool & Savages

Dear friends, we're extremely excited to welcome author Don Winslow as this year's keynote speaker. Winslow's new novel has just been published to coincide with the release of the film adaption of Savages, directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Oliver Stone. Savages was selected as a "Top 10 Book of 2010" by Janet Maslin in The New York Times, and Maslin also just reviewed the prequel The King's of Cool in the New York Times last month. Also, Winslow just published an article to the Huffington Post about the War on Drugs, a subject central to his books and Stone's current film. Conference participants are in for a treat as Winslow talks about his books and his journey to New York Times bestselling author.

New Faculty Member Added - Cornelia Read
Cornelia Read
We're thrilled to welcome Cornelia Read back to our conference faculty this year. Read is the author of the crime novels A Field of Darkness, The Crazy School, and Invisible Boy. She's been nominated for an Edgar, and has won a Shamus Award and a fellowship from the National Endowment from the Arts. Read lives in Manhattan and her fourth novel Valley of Ashes is due out from Grand Central Publishing in August. An alumna of the conference before she was on the faculty, she says, the Book Passage Mystery Writers Conference changed her life. In the best possible way!
