Dig books? Join bestselling author Michelle Moran and Book Passage, Corte Madera, CA, for a literary treasure hunt that coincides with the Sept. 15 release of Moran’s third novel, Cleopatra’s Daughter.
“I thought this would be a fun way for readers—adults and young adults alike—to celebrate the release of my latest book, visit Book Passage and win great prizes,” said Moran, author of Nefertiti and The Heretic Queen.
Beginning Sept. 15, Moran will post a clue, a famous line from literature, next to the listing for Book Passage at http://www.michellemoran.com/treasurehunt.htm. Readers must identify the title and author of the book, go to Book Passage, and find the copy of the book that has the winning red ribbon inside. The first person to take the ribbon to the register will win a box of prizes.
“For example, when a reader checks my Web site on Sept. 15, the literary clue may be ‘To be or not to be, that is the question,’” said Moran. “As this is clearly a line from Hamlet, our literary archeologists will go to Book Passage and look through Shakespeare's copies of Hamlet. In one of these copies there will be a red ribbon. At the register, our literary archaeologists will receive a gift box full of fabulous prizes, including a signed copy of Cleopatra’s Daughter, an authentic Roman artifact, Cleopatra earrings and more Cleopatra-related goodies.”
